The Centro Asturiano de Nueva York, also known as Asturias Cultural Association, was created to serve as a meeting point for Asturians and their descendents living in the Greater New York area. With around 30 Asturian families, Celso González founded the club on December 12th, 1995. The first headquarters were out of the Mesón Asturias, in Elmhurst (Queens). The association became a reference point for Asturians, Spaniards and Latinos whose anscestors were related to Asturias.
On September 11th, 2010 we had our grand opening, our very own headquarters located in the "Centro Español" Astoria facilities, in Queens, New York.
We carry out several activities with the intention of both support those that left Asturias a long time ago but still have her in their hearts as well as encourage the new generations to discover and treasure their Asturian roots.
We extend our most heartfelt invitation to all Asturians, their descendents and friends to join us in our activities.
¡Puxa Asturies!
